Perdiendo cada año el norte de lo que premiar el buen cine más los comentarios poco masculinos de George Clooney, fueron entregados la noche del 15 de enero la 69 entrega de los Globos de Oro, en los cuales resultaron ganadoras las cintas The Descendants y The Artist, en cuantos a las actuaciones Merryl Streep, Jean Dujardin, Michelle Williams y George Clooney; en cuanto a las series Homeland y Modern Family y los mas merecidos para Jessica Lange y Claire Danes.
